The 5th World Conference on Media and Mass Communication 2019 – (MEDCOM 2019) was held on 05th – 07th April 2019 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka in collaboration with the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia and Xiamen University Malaysia as the Co – Hosting Partners while Xiamen University Malaysia, Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta, Indonesia, Dhurakij Pundit University, Thailand, Petra Christian University, Indonesia and University of Zululand, South Africa remained as the successful, collaborative academic Partners of the Conference.
The Conference was held on 05th – 07th April 2019 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia under the theme “Change in Media, Media for Change. Looking for New Paradigms”. MEDCOM 2019 was chaired by Dr. Andrea Volterrani (University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy). The opening remarks of MEDCOM 2019 were made by Conference Chair Dr. Andrea Volterrani (University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy) together with Mr. Isanka P. Gamage (Managing Director, The International Institute of Knowledge Management).
The conference partners (Hosting and Academic partners) were especially recognized during the inauguration for their immense support and collaboration throughout the conference. The token of appreciation to partners was delivered by Mr. Isanka Isanka P. Keynote forum was one of the most significant moments during the Conference and it was enlightened by two keynote speeches. ROUND TABLE DISCUSSIONS
MEDCOM 2019 was comprised of three (03) parallel Round Table Discussions and interested delegates were encouraged to participate in the roundtable discussions and gain the maximum output during the conference period. Round Table Discussions organized in MEDCOM 2019 provided a great platform for delegates to discuss and share their insights on the trends, issues, possible solutions to prevailing concerns in the field of Media and Communication. Round Tables were moderated by the following key persons accordingly.

A workshop on Scholarly Publications was facilitated by Dr. Fida Sanjakdar (Monash University, Australia). The Perspective of the publication workshop was to assist researchers who write full papers with the aim of publishing in a reputable journal or in a reputable proceeding. Through this publication workshop the facilitator was able to disseminate knowledge on writing scientific papers and scholarly publications for future researchers. All conference participants were delighted and graced by this opportunity.
A workshop was arranged by the Conference Chair Dr. Andrea Volterrani to discuss the outcome of the Conference. Moreover, the plans for MEDCOM 2020 was discussed during the workshop while providing an opportunity for participants to share their views and voice their suggestions in terms of the conference theme, venue, dates, featured events and any other applicable areas. The workshop provided an insight to deliver the future conferences in fruitful way with the outputs received by Conference Chair, Participants and Organizers.
The 5th World Conference on Media and Mass Communication – (MEDCOM 2019) brought three (03) storytellers as a part of the Conference to address advocates, academics, artists, journalists, independent researchers, artists and activists in Media and Mass Communication. The session was an interactive feature at MEDCOM 2019 and participants were delighted by following storytellers
MEDCOM 2019 comprised of Twenty Two (22) technical sessions. The technical sessions were under the below themes.
MEDCOM 2019 provided a solid platform for eminent researchers and experts from across the globe to share their research findings with one another and to discuss the challenges of the field. The conference provided a refreshing experience for all to share their research findings and stories on an international platform and to gain a better understanding about each other.

All accepted abstracts will be published in the conference abstract book. All full papers sent for conference proceedings will be accepted through a double blind review process and will be published electronically with ISSN 2424-6778 in proceedings with a DOI number (10.17501). We will submit the proceedings for possible indexing in Thomson Reuters, SCOPUS and Google scholar.
Peer-reviewed and accepted full papers from the participants of The 5th World Conference on Media and Mass Communication 2019 successfully published in the following prestigious journals.
