The Success Story of the 8th World Conference On Media and Mass Communication 2023 (MEDCOM 2023)
The 8th World Conference on Media and Mass Communication 2023 (MEDCOM 2023) held from 16th – 17th March 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand in hybrid platform. MEDCOM 2023 was organized under the theme “Has Something Changed? Media and Communication in the Transformation of Knowledge.” The conference was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka.
The conference united diverse researches and case studies from all over the world, in parallel sessions while offering many networking and publishing opportunities. Moreover, the conference welcomed 100+ Academics, Researchers, Scholars, Activists Industry Leaders and Professionals from 20+ 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 across the globe.
INAUGURATION CEREMONY AND KEYNOTE SPEECHES
The opening remarks of MEDCOM 2023 were made by Mr. Isanka P. Gamage (Co-Founder & Managing Director – The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka) and the Conference Co-Chairs Assistant Professor TÜLÂY ATAY, Hatay Mustafa Kemal University, Faculty of Communication, Journalism Department, Antakya, Türkiye, PROF. ANDREA VOLTERRANI, Director of Master in Social Comm. | Social Farming, University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy and DR. CHRIS FENNER, Public Relations Faculty, Dept. of Communication, University of West Florida, USA.

MEDCOM 2023 brought together over 120 participants (85 Physical + 35 Virtual) from more than 20 countries around the world, including from: Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Spain, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Pakistan, Egypt, Philippines, UAE, India, Portugal, Norway, USA, Romania, Turkey, Vietnam, Brazil, Bulgaria, Italy, Estonia, Poland, Botswana, France, China, Canada, , Kuwait, Japan, , Lithuania, Oman and Nigeria among the many nations represented. The Conference provided an opportunity for participants to share their valuable knowledge from various perspectives. This conference had the representation of almost every continent and region from across the world and provided a global platform to share views and ideas in the field of disability and rehabilitation, as well as to network with international colleagues.
